Mindfulness
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
Viktor Frankl
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to our present moment experiences with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to be with things just as they are. Sounds simple, right? It is! And, well, sometimes, it isn't. Life moves quickly and your attention is pulled in several directions in any given moment. We could all use new tools to navigate our busy lives with greater ease.
Why practice mindfulness?
Mindfulness can:
-
help relieve stress
-
reduce depression
-
alleviate anxiety
-
treat heart disease
-
lower blood pressure
-
reduce chronic pain
-
improve sleep
-
alleviate gastrointestinal difficulties
-
improve communication
